Behind every program is a team, and we’re happy to say it just got bigger. Please welcome Alicia Villacis, Manager, Finance and Operations, and Tooka Shahriari, Manager, Child & Family Programs.
Alicia Villacis, Manager, Finance and Operations
Alicia has worked in accounting for over three years and holds a degree in Commerce and Finance. She comes from B2B finance in the manufacturing sector across North America and the EU, and has always loved improving systems and working with great teams.
Why NSCR? She wanted to be part of an organization with a purpose, and to give back to the North Shore community.
What she’ll be working on: Alicia will focus on financial reporting and day-to-day operations, and will support our Executive Director and HR needs. She’s most looking forward to working across departments, learning from her colleagues, and being a helpful resource for our team and stakeholders.
Outside of work: Alicia is a big sports and running fan, and hopes to complete an Ironman triathlon one day.
Tooka Shahriari, Manager, Child & Family Programs
Tooka has spent most of her career in community and youth-focused organizations, including the YMCA and, most recently, a minor hockey association.
Why NSCR? She was drawn to our focus on supporting the community and the variety of programs and services we offer.
What she’ll be working on: Tooka will work with our childcare team to streamline some of our procedures, and she’s looking forward to exploring new programs we can offer the public.
Outside of work: She’s a longtime Scouts Canada volunteer and spends much of her time hiking, camping, and taking youth on wilderness adventures. If she’s not at work, there’s a good chance she’s on top of a mountain.
