Introducing NSCR: New Strategic Plan

TRU02118low

We’re thrilled to share something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for months: NSCR’s new Strategic Plan for 2026 to 2029. This is a renewed commitment to the North Shore community and a clearer picture of where we’re headed as an organization over the next three years. As we mark 50 years of serving families across the North Shore, this feels like the right moment to look ahead and ask: what’s next?

Here’s what’s new:

Our Vision: A community where every person is supported.

Whether you’re a new parent trying to find child care, a senior navigating aging on your own terms, or someone who just needs a little help understanding your rights, we want the North Shore to be a place where support is never out of reach.

Our Mission: NSCR helps people navigate life’s challenges by connecting them with essential support, social belonging, and new possibilities.

Our mission is about more than services. It’s about connection. Life doesn’t hand out challenges one at a time, and it doesn’t come with a manual either. NSCR exists to help people find their way through, whatever that looks like for them, and to open doors to community and opportunity along the way.

Our Values
Four values guide everything we do, from how we run our programs to how we treat each other as a team:

  • A compassionate, people-first approach. Every decision starts with the people we serve.
  • Collaborative relationships built on trust. We know we can’t do this alone, and we don’t want to.
  • Integrity in leadership and service. We hold ourselves accountable, every step of the way.
  • Responsive to evolving community needs. The North Shore is always changing, and so are we.

Fifty years is a milestone worth pausing for. It’s given us the chance to reflect on how far NSCR has come and to make sure the road ahead is just as intentional as the one behind us. This plan is the result of real conversations with our staff, our partners, and the community members we serve every day.

We’re proud of it, and we can’t wait to bring it to life over the next three years.
