Some news we’re genuinely proud of: North Shore Community Resources is now a certified Living Wage Employer.
In practice, that means everyone on our team is paid at least the Metro Vancouver living wage, the hourly rate that actually covers rent, groceries, childcare, and transit here, not just the legal minimum.
It’s the kind of thing that felt like an obvious step for us. Every day, our team is on the ground helping North Shore families get through hard stretches and find their footing. It didn’t sit right to ask that of people without making sure they could cover their own rent and groceries too.
So this isn’t really a new initiative or a shift in direction, more just making sure our own house matches what we ask of the community around us. To the NSCR team: this one’s simply thank you.
