If you’re a senior on the North Shore, or supporting one, and not sure where to start, Seniors One Stop (SOS) is here for exactly that. For more than 30 years, SOS has been a free, confidential first point of contact for seniors and their families, offering information and referrals on everything from home support and transportation to subsidized housing, financial benefits, and legal services. Staffed largely by our helpful volunteers, many of them seniors themselves, SOS helps people navigate the resources available to them and stay connected to social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities.
Summer Hours
Seniors One Stop Navigation Centre is operating on summer hours, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, running through September 8.
Staying Safe This Summer
Warmer weather is also a good time to plan ahead for extreme heat, especially for seniors, who are at higher risk during heat events. We’ve put together a full list of cooling stations, heat safety tips, and other resources. Check out our Extreme Heat Resources guide here.
Have questions, or not sure where to start? Contact Seniors One Stop, we’re happy to help.
