We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Nadir Surani has stepped into the role of Executive Director at North Shore Community Resources.
Nadir isn’t new to NSCR, or to the North Shore. He’s been part of our team for seven years, starting out as our Operations and Accounting Manager before moving into the role of Assistant Executive Director and, most recently, serving as Interim Executive Director. Along the way, he’s built a deep understanding of what makes NSCR tick, from the numbers behind the scenes to the people and programs at the heart of everything we do.
As a lifelong North Shore resident, Nadir’s connection to this community runs deep. He grew up here, volunteered here, and has always looked for ways to give back to the neighbourhoods that shaped him. That spirit of service is a big part of why NSCR has felt like such a natural fit.
Nadir holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UBC and a Master’s degree in International Business, with a specialization in Finance, earned in San Francisco. That combination of policy know-how and financial fluency has served NSCR well, and it’s a big part of what makes him ready to lead the organization into its next chapter as we mark our 50th anniversary this year.
Building relationships with other nonprofit leaders across the North Shore is a big part of how Nadir leads. He knows the best outcomes for our community come from working together, and he puts real energy into strengthening those connections, whether that’s collaborating on shared initiatives, exchanging ideas, or making sure NSCR remains a strong, trusted partner in the wider nonprofit network.
Outside the office, you might spot Nadir exploring Italian restaurants across the city or taking a walk along the West Vancouver Seawalk. Music has always been part of his life too, since he used to play both piano and tenor saxophone.
