June 2nd was a night we will not forget anytime soon.
After 50 years of showing up for the North Shore community, we finally got to stop and celebrate! The evening was everything we hoped for and more. The room was full of laughter, good conversations, familiar faces, and a few happy tears. The kind of night that reminds you exactly why this work matters.
Here is a little recap of the evening, and a big thank you to the incredible people who helped make it happen.
The Perfect Setting
We could not have picked a better spot to mark this milestone than MONOVA, North Vancouver’s stunning museum and cultural centre. There is something poetic about celebrating 50 years of community history in a place that is dedicated to preserving and sharing stories and the space was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, MONOVA, for being such a wonderful host for the evening!
The Food Was Chef’s Kiss
Let’s be honest, the food was a highlight of the night. Bon Vivant Catering absolutely nailed it with a gorgeous spread of passed appetizers and the slider bar that kept everyone happy and mingling all evening long. Then came dessert, and things got really good. Dolce Amore treated our guests to the most gorgeous, creamy gelato, the perfect sweet moment on a celebratory evening and one of the most talked about surprises.

Smile! You Are in the Photo Booth
One of the most popular spots of the night? Without a doubt, the Magik Moments 360 photo booth. Guests absolutely loved it, spinning around, showing their best dance moves, and capturing the most fun video moments of the evening. From hilarious group shots to those spontaneous moments between people who had not seen each other in years, it brought so much energy and laughter to the room. It was one of those touches that just made the whole night feel extra special. Thank you, Magik Moments, for bringing the 360 experience to our 50th!

We also want to give a warm shoutout to Fresh St. Market and Cream Pony for their support of this celebration. It means so much to have local businesses in our corner and your contribution to this evening is a beautiful reflection of the community spirit that has always made the North Shore such a special place.

50 Years. One Incredible Night.
Looking around the room that evening, at the staff who pour their hearts into this work, the volunteers who show up again and again, the donors who believe in what we do, and the community members who have been part of NSCR’s story over the years, it was honestly hard not to get a little emotional.
Fifty years of families supported. Connections made. Lives changed. And a community that just keeps showing up for itself.
This party was a celebration of all of that and a reminder that the best is still ahead. We cannot wait for the next 50 years.
