When clients come to NSCR’s Legal team, they’re searching for someone to offer supportive and resourceful assistance to help them get out of and beyond their current situation. For 14 years they were greeted by Tannis Boxer, our long time legal advocate who has dedicated her life to fighting for her community. After such a long time that we almost can’t imagine this office without her, Tannis has moved on to her next adventure: retirement.
Here’s what just two of her numerous clients had to say:
“I want to convey my deepest appreciation for this team, especially Tannis who have guided me through very rough uncharted waters these past 2 months.”
“Tannis has been a lighthouse in the storm, a beacon of light, a soft place to land………I’m ever so grateful.”
With Tannis’ departure, the legal advocacy program is in the very capable hands of Nicholas Smith and Zabeeh Rehman. Nicholas has worked closely with Tannis through the years and reflects on his time:
“Throughout her nearly 13 years with North Shoe Community Resources, Tannis demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her clients, offering tireless support and advocating for their needs with a blend of practical and creative problem-solving. Tannis helped vulnerable members of our community navigating some of life’s most personal and difficult challenges, always with an approach rooted in care, respect, dignity, and grace.
Her impact on the community and the individuals she served is immeasurable. Tannis has set a high standard for what it means to serve with compassion and professionalism, and we are grateful for the lasting legacy she leaves behind.”
The admiration and respect Tannis’ coworkers and clients have for her can not be overstated. She left NSCR a stronger and more connected organization then when she found it, 14 years ago. And for that we can’t thank her enough. Tannis, you’re already greatly missed.
