Prepare for the Provincial Election with Vote PopUp!

North Shore Volunteer Fair (2)

With the provincial election coming up in October, we thought we would go over some few basics, updated info, and tips!

This election will be provincial, for British Columbia. In a provincial election, you vote for an MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) for your electoral district, or riding. The party with the most MLA’s elected will be the winners with the party’s leader as our new premier. If you haven’t already, check which electoral district you’re in here. You can check the current list of nominees here and find your nearest voting station here.

If you’re new to voting or would like to better understand what will take place when you vote, come on out to the NSCR office on the 2nd floor of Capilano Mall and do a test run on our Vote PopUp, a voting simulation activity. Vote PopUp is an initiative by Elections BC and Democratic Engagement Exchange to help get people ready for elections through their local community.
