Celebrating Intergenerational Day

June 1st is Intergenerational Day.

Intergenerational Day is meant to raise awareness and celebrate the power of intergenerational connection. Building and maintaining relationships between seniors, adults, youth and children helps decrease feelings of loneliness and isolation. NSCR advocates for and works hard to create opportunities for intergenerational connection to bridge generational gaps in our community.

On June 1st, we encourage you to reach out to someone older or younger than you. Have a conversation with them on the phone or invite them for a walk – the possibilities are endless.

Learn more about the ways NSCR is working to bridge the intergenerational divide by reading this article by SFU MA student, Rachelle Patille.

Wishing you a Happy Intergenerational Day!
